This is not a paid ad, though hopefully it is. Kidding. We do want to have an increase in membership though. :P

Quoted from the Mensa Philippines blog (click the image to visit):

Mensa Philippines – the local organization of the international high IQ society Mensa International – will be holding its qualifying test for individuals aged 12 and above who are seeking membership in Mensa.

The testing, dubbed “The Mensa IQ Challenge”, will be held on November 30, 2008 (Sunday) at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. Tests will be given every hour from 11am to 5pm.

The only criterion for Mensa membership is to score within the top 2% (98th percentile and up) of the test. The test is culture-fair and does not test for math or language skills.

Limited slots are available to those interested in taking the Mensa test. To avail of these slots, interested parties can pre-register at the online facility available at mensaphilippines. blogspot. com. The deadline for pre-registration is before 12 midnight of November 28.

During the test, exam takers will need to bring a valid ID and a testing fee of P500. Undergraduate students with valid student IDs are entitled to a discounted fee of P300. Note that payments will only be received at the testing venue itself.

Mensa has over 100,000 members in over 80 countries worldwide. Actress/Olympian archer Geena Davis, comedian John Cleese and science-fiction writer Isaac Asimov are some of the more prominent Mensa members.

Mensa’s aims are to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity; to encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence; and to promote stimulating and social opportunities for its members.

No, this is definitely not a hate post. It’s more of a social post, to expose how filthy brains can get. Not in the real sense of the word, but, how filthy thoughts and actions can be.

My friend, and some of her friends – they are all juniors, while I am a senior – are very, very disappointed at some people in their batch as of the moment.

Try dropping by http://cfawards.blogspot.com and find out for yourself. Also try dropping by http://xfacekillahcrossx.blogspot.com for an… explanation for such act. And try dropping by http://ada-nikki.blogspot.com for a stand from one of the scrap girls the second blogger identified.

My friend managed to make the Magic Twenty but she feels offended. And given how they presented it, and the demographics of the said survey, I think it’s crap.

Call me gay or whatever, I don’t care. I know I’m a guy, I don’t treat girls like things, and I think.

It has been a tradition for Philippine Science High School’s School fair to have a Fair Pair. Since First Year, I have been utterly annoyed by such thing, only until it’s actually our turn to work on it now. And, hey, I actually realized it is the best source of income for the fair committee. No cash out whatsoever but the cash that goes to our money box is… huge.

It’s only the second day, and estimated income is… guess what? About seven thousand pesos. Wonderful as it may sound, may you be reminded that Philippine Science High School will host Roadblock on the 28th of November. Sorry for the shameless plugging, but I have to say that there are still… 11 days until the thing is over. Assuming that the income would increase, we may safely say we may get maybe as much as fifty thousand. Add to that the presence of massive voting during the days of the fair itself, so maybe the grand income may reach as much as seventy thousand. Pure profit, no cost at all, except for the romantic treats the winning pair gets.

Well, I find the thing very funny though. Our school’s talent for a cause, even though lasting for two weeks, only earned around 40 something thousand. A lot of sections are in arrears for class and batch funds, with my own class accumulating a total of about 14,000 pesos. However, when it comes to admittedly cheesy and relatively shallow things such as these, I do have to admit that my fellow scholars spend a lot. And I mean A LOT.

Another thing that puzzled me is when people backvote, it is always to the pleasure of… the organizers. And the backvoter. I wouldn’t state here why it is the pleasure of the former, because this might lead to not being able to get the optimal income. I have readers among the freshmen, who are the fans of such concept, and if they know why such concept exists, I doubt they will still patrnoize it.

This also answers my question whether or not the past – pairings of couples from the past – do not disappear. Mostly these occur from juniors and seniors, and I guess they know the concept behind it.

It’s pack-up time now and I have to stop writing. The analysis is good enough, as far as I know, and I guess it can give me some more Econ points.

I’m rather amazed by the fact that my mom has resorted to bribery to force me to study. Fifty pesos for each homework, a hundred for each passed quiz, and two hundred for each passed long test. Amazing, eh? Applying that for my problem subjects (2.5 to 3.0) is fine, but for all? I think I win, big time.

I study. I don’t play DoTA or anything else for that matter, sans CS, which I can’t play at home because of the lack of people to play with. Sure, I burn time in front of my laptop (like what I’m doing now) but, look, when I study, I study. Get that? No unnecessary shit there.

See? This is now the point of my post, particulary its title. I have an apparent obvious lack of focus and concentration. I know I have a Math homework from hell to finish, a Physics report to polish, a Chem laboratory report to finish (I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT…) and a program to work on. This makes me feel guilty that I’m still in the premier high school in the Philippines, with the taxpayers shouldering my education. Well, not really, I still know I deserve the slot I rightfully earned about three and a half years ago, and I know some of my schoolmates don’t. Sorry for the blunt remark, but I’m saddened that, even though we’re in the same condition (a risk of not being able to graduate), they don’t care at all. Come on, that’s one of the few things a teen has to care about. I swear, it’s very few, but people tend to care about things they really shouldn’t.

Now I wonder why I still don’t end this post or, at least, write “TO BE CONTINUED” then. Oh well, I guess I should end this now.

Thank God there IS a three day break attached to the weekend, it can make life easier.

Shit happens. I remember an acquaintance telling me that last year after getting a horrible 5% in a long exam in Mathematics. Well, he’s right. What can we do, it’s Math?

Over the past year, I have been rather unstable as I haven’t found an outlet to let everything out. Well, I think that is the etymology of the world outlet, to let out. For all I care. Anyway, Multiply is too social, Blogger is too plain, and Livejournal is not that conducive to writing. This is the first time I’ve tried out WordPress, the intimate blogging provider, and I guess the last blog I can call a success was the last one I tried in WordPress. Moving on to more important matters…

I used to debate. Shit happened in the first and only competition I joined, so I didn’t pursue it this year. Besides, my schedule is very awful I can’t even accomodate the meetings for the Student Catholic Association. How Atheist I may appear, I do believe.

Darn, I’m moving too sideway now. About quitting debate, I just tried to express myself through writing. I know I have writing potential, I just don’t have the proper way to publicize it. When I won the press conference, English editorial category (with zero preparation at all, I decided to join that category a few hours before the competition started), after being judged by the great MLQ3, it was an egoboost. Finally, I know how I can express, but I still don’t know where.

I wouldn’t want to be retyping nearly everything I said about myself in the “The Teenwriter” page, so I guess I’ll just answer the question I posed at the title of this post. Hey, that’s what this post really is for.
